How to apply for a Research Higher DegreeUQ has recently changed its admission and scholarship applications procedure for domestic applicants to research higher degree programs. Applications will now be accepted at anytime throughout the year. Visit the information from the Graduate School for more details. Basically, this means that applicants for admission to the PhD or MPhil program interested in being considered for a scholarship (Australian Postgraduate Award or UQ Scholarship) will need to:
- complete and submit an Application for Admission and Scholarship to the School of Mathematics and Physics.
- ensure that two referees are nominated and that the referees reports are received by the School.
- submit a School Recommendation on an Application for Admission and Scholarship form by email to their prospective Principal Advisor, making sure to complete the sections headed
- Section 1: Applicant details;
- Section 3: The title of the research project;
- Section 7: Advisory Team.
It is recommended that applicants visit the Graduate Schoolto download the application form and read information about the application process in detail. Students should complete the form electronically, print it out, sign it and submit it to the School.
Your Principal Advisor will, in conjunction with the Postgraduate Coordinator for your discipline, complete the rest of the form. On this form, the School will address each applicant's Research Potential/Performance and Match with Research Strengths. |
